Tributes have been paid to a childcare assistant who lost her life in a house fire in east Cork over the weekend.
Gardaí say they are fully satisfied that the blaze which broke out in the family home in the early hours of Saturday morning was accidental.
Prayers were said at masses yesterday for 22-year-old Stacey Dunlea who died in a fire at her family home in Midleton over the weekend.
Units of the fire brigade from Midleton and Cobh rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 3.30am on Saturday morning.
Stacey’s body was recovered from the building a short time later but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination took place at Cork University Hospital and a file will be prepared for the coroner’s court.
Her father, and two of her siblings were also rescued from the house and were taken to the Mercy University Hospital for treatment.
She will be buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery after her funeral mass at 2pm tomorrow.
