The Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe three viable explosive devices in Dublin.

Bomb squad experts were called after a suspect device was found outside a private residence in the Saint Dominics area of Tallaght at around 4.20pm today.

The area was cordoned off and a number of homes were evacuated for public safety.

The devices were made safe at the scene and all items have been handed over to Gardai for further investigation.

The area was declared safe just before 5pm.
