A protest at the Apple computer plant in Cork this morning has come to an end.

The activists ended their protest and climbed down from the building when gardaí arrived at the scene.

Trained negotiators worked to bring down three people who were hanging from ropes off the roof of the building.

It later emerged that the protesters were linked to Greenpeace. The environmental lobby group said that it wanted to highlight how much of the new 'i-cloud' service is powered by fossil fuels.
