Three people have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two separate cannabis growing plants in Co Clare.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two separate cannabis growing plants in Co Clare.

At around 10pm this morning Gardaí discovered 200 plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 following the search of a house in Lislanahan in Kilkee.

A man and a woman both aged 23 were arrested and are currently being held at Kilrush Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A second property in Tullaroe, Kilkee, was also searched by officers where around 300 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €280,000 euro were discovered.

A man in his 50s was arrested and is currently being held at Ennis Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
