Tens of thousands of euro raised in memory of Buncrana tragedy

Almost €90,000 has been raised in memory of the five people who died in last weekend's pier tragedy in Buncrana.

A justgiving page which initially set a target of £5,000 has received almost £48,000, or €60,000, in donations so far.

€9,000 was raised in a fundraiser in New York on Thursday night, while a woman in Buncrana has raised just under €20,000 for the victims' families.

All five were laid to rest together in their native Derry on Thursday.
