Teenager killed in Co Cork jet ski crash

A 16-year-old boy has died and another man is seriously injured following a collision between a jet ski and a speedboat in Youghal, Co Cork, last night.

A 16-year-old boy has died and another man is seriously injured following a collision between a jet ski and a speedboat in Youghal, Co Cork, last night.

The accident happened shortly after 8pm in the inner harbour at Youghal.

Gardaí said the dead teenager was driving the jet ski at the time of the collision.

The 36-year-old speedboat operator was taken to hospital with serious lower-body injuries, while another man on a dinghy being pulled by the boat escaped with minor injuries.
