The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said he want to see talks on the proposed break up of CIÉ resume.

Yesterday the National Bus and Railworkers Union (NBRU) decided to withdraw from talks with the Government and said they would not re-enter negotiations.

The NBRU will discuss their next course of action with the CIÉ group of unions tomorrow and industrial action appears increasingly likely.

Mr Ahern says such action would not be good for the staff, company or the travelling public.
