The Tánaiste and Indian Ambassador to Ireland have held talks to discuss the death of Savita Halappanavar.

The 31-year-old dentist died at University Hospital Galway last month - from septicaemia - after suffering a miscarriage.

Debashish Chakravarti said he was instructed to convey his Government's concerns about the incident to the Irish authorities.

Eamon Gilmore has said that the Irish Government will co-operate with the Indian Embassy and give every support to Savita's family:
