The trial of former Dublin Assistant City and County Manager, George Redmond, for alleged corruption has continued with legal submissions before Judge Michael White.
Mr Redmond, aged 78, has pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to two charges of corruption in office.
The charges alleged that while an agent or servant of a public body he received and corruptly accepted "a gift of money" on a date unknown between June 1, 1987 and May 31, 1988 as an inducement or reward in relation to the sale of a right of way at Palmerstown, Co Dublin.
The 'trial within a trial' is expected to continue for some days.
