A new study shows that three out of 20 drivers in Ireland still do not wear their seatbelt.

A new study shows that three out of 20 drivers in Ireland still do not wear their seatbelt.

The report from a Brussels-based road safety group ranks Ireland in 10th place among 24 European countries.

The European Transport Safety Council also says that seatbelt-wearing saves approximately 100 lives here each year.

According to the council a further one in five drivers' lives could be saved if more of them belted up.
