A Spanish-registered fishing vessel has been detained by the Irish naval service just south of Union Hall in Co Cork.

A Spanish-registered fishing vessel has been detained by the Irish naval service just south of Union Hall in Co Cork.

The boat was stopped by the LE Niamh in relation to an alleged breach of fishing regulations.

It is currently being escorted to Castletownbere where it will be handed over to gardaí.
