Sixteen people remain in Garda custody this morning as part of Operation Thor.

The men and women were arrested in Co Kilkenny yesterday charged with theft, robbery and burglary.

Gardaí, together with the Department of Agriculture, also seized 30 horses in the Wetlands area of Kilkenny.

The horses have been removed to a safe environment.

Operation Thor involves community gardaí mounting special checkpoints to help the public protect their property.
