A 32-year-old man has been jailed for six years today for killing a Lithuanian father-of-one in his Tipperary home after arriving uninvited at the victim’s Christmas celebrations.

Egidijus Kiaulakis stabbed Gintaras Brazauskas seven times in the early hours of St Stephen’s Day 2008.

He also assaulted the victim's lifelong friend during the row that broke out.

He was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter by a jury at the Central Criminal Court in March last.
