Six rescued after high-altitude Tramore amusement ride gets stuck

Fire service and gardaí had to rescue six people after a number of people became trapped in an amusement ride in Tramore in Co Waterford.

The chair-o-plane-style ride malfunctioned - leaving up the people stuck in mid-air - approximately 60 metres above the ground, for around an hour.

The fire service used an extended ladder and platform to bring them to safety - as a crowd of locals and holidaymakers looked on.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified, however it is understood that none of the people trapped on the ride were injured during the incident.
