SIPTU has said that it will ballot train drivers on the Labour Court recommendation that was issued in relation to the dispute between the drivers and management.
The Labour Court is advising an independent assessment process to oversee negotiations between management and unions on past productivity and a reduction in the working week.
However, the union said that members will ballot to decide whether to accept it, based on whether it provides enough assurance to them that the company will now seriously engage on previous commitments.
Irish Rail says it welcomes the constructive approach from the Labour Court and will be engaging with the process.
