Sinn Fein is calling on the government to end 20 years of inaction on the issue of abortion

The party brought forward a Dail motion this evening demanding the immediate introduction of legislation to give effect to the 1992 Supreme Court judgement in the X Case.

Opening the debate, Sinn Fein Vice President Mary Lou McDonald said once the expert group on abortion report is published, the government must move to legislate:
