Gardaí in Carlow are appealing for witnesses after a shot was fired from a car in the town yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí in Carlow are appealing for witnesses after a shot was fired from a car in the town yesterday afternoon.

The shot was fired in the O'Hanrahan Avenue area of Carlow town at around 4pm.

No one was injured in the incident and the car left the scene. In a follow-up operation, two men in their 30s were detained.

They are being held in Carlow Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
