The Social Democrats launch their "alternative budget" this morning with a call for the Government to cut the cost of living.
The party said it had put together a programme aimed at delivering the type of society where living is affordable for all and services are fit for purpose.
Co-leader Roísín Shorthall said: "We believe it makes much more sense not to erode the tax base, but to give money back to people by cutting the cost of living.
"If we do that, we can protect and invest more in our public services. We know there are big problems with housing, healthcare and childcare.
"We're determined to make this a modern country, and we'd like to see investment in those key public services."
