The Justice Minister will travel to Dundalk today to meet with gardaí following the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
Alan Shatter will meet Detective Garda Donohoe's colleagues after he was shot dead during a raid on the Lordship Credit Union on Friday night.
Minister Shatter says he will meet with the Donohoe family at a more appropriate time.
A book of condolence for the 41 year old will open at the Mansion House in Dublin this afternoon.
"I'm going to meet with colleagues of Adrian Donohoe and Garda Ryan, who is still very stressed by these events.
"I hope to meet as early as possible with the family and I think they need appropriate space to come to terms with what has happened," Minister Shatter said.
