Transport Minister Shane Ross is being accused of not taking 'cycling safety' seriously enough.
It follows a protest by over 50 cyclists who laid down with their bikes outside the gates of Leinster House yesterday evening following the death of a 19-year-old cyclist last week.
Organisers 'I Bike Dublin' and the 'Dublin Cycle Campaign' were trying to get the message across that roads need to be safer.
Fianna Fail's Dublin Deputy John Lahart said they are right.
He said: "We need to show and demonstrate a lot more clearly that the public space in Dublin is a space that's open not just to drivers but walkers, commercial traffic and cycling traffic as well, and I don't think Minister Ross takes that seriously."
