Gardaí investigating the activities of a sex trafficking gang arrested a seventh person this afternoon

Gardaí investigating the activities of a sex trafficking gang arrested a seventh person this afternoon.

The man – who is in his twenties - was arrested in the Carlow area. Computer equipment and documentation was also seized.

The arrest followed a major operation across ten counties today, during which nine brothels were raided and six people arrested.

Simultaneous searches were conducted in the North and in Wales, and a further three arrests were made.
