A senior board member at FAS says he has found fresh instances of large financial deals being hidden by the former management of the state training agency.
Niall Saul - the head of the audit committee of the outgoing FAS board - says the new cases have been unveiled in 23 audit reports to be reviewed today.
Rody Molloy, the former Director General who left FAS in disgrace last year, was only allowed approve purchases of up to €250,000, but three instances of this being breached have been found and a number of other cases have been found where bills were "spilt".
Specifics of the cases have not been released, but it is understood one deals with the moving of the 'Opportunities' jobs fair from the RDS to Croke Park without any cost analysis and at a cost of more than €600,000.
