Sean Quinn Jnr due back in court in contempt proceedings

Sean Quinn Jnr is due back before the High Court today over his role in an asset-stripping plot.

He has been found to have breached court orders put in place to stop the Quinns stripping assets from their International Property Group.

At his last appearance, the court heard that the son of the jailed businessman wanted to purge his contempt, but did not then have the €390,000 required to do so.

Sean Quinn Jnr has already served a three-month sentence in Mountjoy.

IBRC, formerly Anglo Irish Bank, says it has a €430m claim on the group's assets.

At his last court appearance, Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne gave the bank and the businessman time to continue exchanging correspondence.

The contempt proceedings are also against Sean Quinn Snr, who is in jail, and Peter Darragh Quinn, who has not shown up in court since a warrant was issued for his arrest.
