Former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean Fitzpatrick is to be charged with 12 further breaches of company law.
Mr Fitzpatrick, who is already accused of unlawfully helping to back a group of investors to buy shares in the financial institution in 2008, was arrested this morning.
Gardaí attached to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement detained the 64-year-old. He was taken to the Bridewell garda station, where he was charged.
The former Anglo chairman will appear before Dublin District Court to face a further 12 charges later this morning.
