Schools will have to keep a log book of bullying incidents under a new anti-bullying action plan announced today.

The plan will specifically target cyber and homophobic bullying by providing special training to teachers and parents.

A new anti-bullying website will also be established to provide information for interested parties.

Education Minister Ruairi Quinn said part of the solution to bullying involves educating parents about the types of bullying carried out on social media.

"Parents have to be informed (about) what is there and how they can monitor their children's activity without invading the young-person's privacy," he said.
