Rural local authorities want sex offenders from their areas to be housed in Dublin after getting out of jail.

An official from the Irish Prison Service has told Dublin City Council that they have great difficulty getting county managers to house former convicts, particularly sex offenders.

The prison service believes that all local authorities have a responsibility to deal with convicted criminals.
