Roscommon school evacuated following hoax phone call

Gardaí say an incident at a Roscommon school which led to a building being evacuated this morning was a hoax.

700 students and staff at St Nathy's secondary school had to leave the building after a "suspicious" phone call was received.

Gardaí were called to the school to investigate.

Gardaí say a decision was made to not have pupils present while the incident was being investigated.

Parents received a text message at 8.30am asking them to collect their children as the school was closing.
