Workers at Roadstone Woods Ltd are on strike today in protest against cuts to their wages.

Staff downed tools this morning at 20 of the firm's locations across the country and the trade union SIPTU says the industrial action will continue until a "fair resolution to the dispute is achieved".

The company, which manufactures building materials for the construction sector, has been in talks with union officials in recent weeks over plans to cut its payroll costs by €10m over the next five years.

However, these negotiations broke down over the weekend.
