Revenue seize more than 10,000 cigarettes in Port of Cork

Revenue officers have seized around 10,600 cigarettes in Cork Port.

They found the contraband while searching a Liberian-registered cargo vessel today.

The cigarettes, branded ‘L&M Red', 'Winston Blue' and 'Rothmans’ have an estimated retail value of more than €6,700.

Officers said it represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of €4,400.
