Revenue officers seize 50k worth of drugs in Limerick

Revenue officers have seized cigarettes, tobacco and a quantity of the stimulant drug known as ‘Khat’.

Revenue officers have seized cigarettes, tobacco and a quantity of the stimulant drug known as ‘Khat’.

Approximately €50,000 worth of the drug was seized in a raid on a private home in Limerick City.

Two people have been arrested and are being questioned in Henry Street Garda Station.

Meanwhile, in Dublin, 20,000 cigarettes and 10 kilos of tobacco were seized today from a number of residences in the north inner city.

The seizures are part of an ongoing operation targeting the illegal tobacco trade.
