Report ranks Dublin as one of the world's worst cities for commuters
Dublin is one of the worst cities in the world to be a driver, according to a new report.
A new report from motor data company Inrix shows commuters spent almost 250 hours stuck in cars in the city last year.
That is the equivalent of more than 10 full days for commuters in Dublin which came in at 52nd out of more than 200 cities in the rankings.
Moscow topped the rankings ahead of Istanbul in Turkey and Bogota in Colombia.
Professor Brian Caulfield from Trinity College says there are many reasons why people are choosing to take their cars.
Professor Caulfield said: "If there were more options available, then people would have more viable alternatives to make them get out of their car and on to public transport.
"When it comes to more investment in lanes the city centre, space for cars in the city centre, that's not there. One of the things I always say is that we have a space problem when it comes to transport."
