Report into Roma children controversy due soon

The Justice Minister said a report into the removal of two Roma children from their families will soon be published.

The report, which is understood to be highly critical, was carried out by the Children's Ombudsman Emily Logan.

It examines the cases in which two children in Dublin and Athlone were removed from their families by Gardaí over concerns for their identities.

Minister Frances Fitzgerald said she will be making a statement on the findings, but declined to confirm reports she will issue an apology.
