Report: Dept of Finance approves €500k pay for IBRC executive

It has been reported that the Department of Finance has signed off on IBRC hiring another executive on an annual pay deal of more than €500,000.

According to today's Irish Times, Kevin Blake will become the former Anglo Irish Bank's chief risk officer tomorrow.

It is understood the Department of Finance has confirmed his appointment and pay package meets their guidelines.

He is the seventh executive at the bank to be paid more than half a million euro per annum.

Earlier this week, the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore said it was unacceptable for bankers working for State-owned lenders to earn more than €500k a year.
