Quinn workers ask for former directors to be put back in charge

Workers at Quinn Insurance have asked the chairman of Anglo Irish Bank to put Sean Quinn's senior directors back on the board of the Quinn group to oversee the running of the company.

Workers at Quinn Insurance have asked the chairman of Anglo Irish Bank to put Sean Quinn's senior directors back on the board of the Quinn group to oversee the running of the company.

A group representing workers in the border area met Alan Dukes this morning to seek assurances that the takeover by Anglo of the Quinn group would not lead to job losses, amid speculation that the Quinn family is considering a court challenge to the way in which the Quinn group was seized by Anglo.

Workers' spokesperson Padraig Donohoe said: "What was the sense, economic or common, to remove Sean Quinn and his senior board of directors in the Quinn Group?...They have built the group up over the last 38 years...They know all the customers - it makes no sense to remove them."
