Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has confirmed the Government has received no formal notice that the ECB backs the bank-debt deal.
Speaking in the Dáil this afternoon, he said that while media reports talked of a deal done, or just about to be done, the Government had "not yet received formal confirmation of precisely what is to be agreed".
He said that when that confirmation was received, the Government would decide on its response and "as soon as that happens, we will then communicate with the house".
Meanwhile, Enda Kenny is to address the Dáil shortly. He did not depart today for EU-budget talks in Brussels as had been expected.
