Quinn remains tight-lipped on buget cuts

The Minister for Education is refusing to clarify where cuts will be sought within his department in October’s budget.

The Minister for Education is refusing to clarify where cuts will be sought within his department in October’s budget.

However, Minister Ruairi Quinn has said that cuts of between €40m and €100m will have to be implemented.

Minister Quinn claims he will not have final budgetary figures until the last week in September when there will be a series of government meetings to discuss potential cuts.
