An Post is reminding its customers that they must send Christmas cards by next Monday if they want them to arrive in Britain and the rest of Europe in time for the festive season.

Christmas cards to Irish addresses must also be sent by next Tuesday at the latest.

An Post said people sending photographs or small gifts along with their cards should make sure the envelope is well-sealed as postal staff spend much of January trying to unite the missing contents of letters with their senders.
