Priory Hall could cost Dublin City council €14m

The evacuation of Priory Hall has cost Dublin City Council almost €4m so far.

That is before a further €10m is spent on the refurbishment of the apartment complex in north Dublin.

Last October the former residents of Priory Hall accepted a deal which allowed them to them to walk away from their homes.

The council has undertaken to continue paying the accommodation costs of the residents until next month and will be reviewing the situation within the next two weeks.

Up to €1.5m has been spent on security at the site, another million on apartment leasing for tenants and €400,000 on hotel bills.
