Power failure at Temple Street Hospital

Temple Street Hospital in Dublin is currently off-call for ambulances due to a power failure.

In a statement it says all scheduled surgeries were postponed this morning but emergency surgeries will go ahead this afternoon.

Parents are encouraged to attend their local GP if at all possible however if the matter is urgent, the emergency department is still operational.

A spokesperson says today's temporary power failure continues to demonstrate the need for a new children's hospital.
