There is yet more bad news for Eamon Gilmore this morning with another poll showing Labour facing massive losses in the local elections.

The Ipsos MRBI poll for the Irish Times shows Labour set to win just 7% of the vote for city and county council elections, down from 15% five years ago.

Sinn Féin is set to make the biggest gains - going from 7% up to 17% - while Fine Gael is down nine points to 23%, the same level as Fianna Fáil, who are down 1%.

1,500 voters were sampled for the poll between Tuesday and Thursday of last week.
