A plane flying from Paris to Detroit has made an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport after a passenger went into labour.

A plane flying from Paris to Detroit was forced to make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport yesterday after a passenger went into labour.

The captain asked for special permission for the Airbus A340 to touch down there.

The mother-to-be was taken off the Air France flight and transferred to hospital.
