Oxigen fire forces An Post parcel depot evacuation

An Post has been forced to temporarily close the Merrywell parcel depot in Dublin as a result of heavy smoke from the nearby Ballymount fire.

44 workers have been evacuated this evening as fire fighters continue to tackle the blaze at the Oxigen Environmental recycling plant.

An Post said that customers can expect some disruption to services, as it'll be at least a day before staff can return to the depot because of health and safety reasons.

They added there is no fire danger to their building and that all parcels will be safe.
