A man in his 30s has been arrested after gardaí seized drugs with an estimated street value of €40,000 following a raid on a house in Thurles, Co Tipperary.

A man in his 30s has been arrested after gardaí seized drugs with an estimated street value of €40,000 following a raid on a house in Thurles, Co Tipperary.

The raid was carried out yesterday evening by uniformed Gardaí and members of the Divisional Drugs Unit, with heroin, amphetamine and cannabis found.

The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Thurles Garda Station. He can be detained for up to seven days.

Gardaí said the raid was part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Co. Tipperary.

UPDATE 1.30pm: A woman in her 20s was also arrested in connection with this investigation this afternoon. She is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Thurles Garda Station.
