Offaly vet Catherine Gowing to be buried today

The funeral mass of Offaly vet Catherine Gowing takes place in Co. Offaly later.

The 37-year-old, who was originally from Clonlee, near Birr, was murdered in Wales last October.

Catherine Gowing was last seen alive on October 12 at a supermarket near her home in New Brighton, Flintshire in north Wales.

Her burnt-out Renault Clio was found days later, just two miles from where she lived.

Some of Catherine Gowing's remains were later found at two sites in a shallow pond in Sealand and on the banks of the River Dee near Chester.

46-year-old Clive Sharp was arrested in relation to her death and has since been charged with her murder.

Last night Ms Gowing's remains were brought for a removal at St Flannan's Church in Kinnitty.

She will be laid to rest after funeral mass at midday today.
