Disgraced politician Patrick Nulty is set to get a €14,000 taxpayer-funded payout.

The former Dublin West TD was forced to resign after it was revealed he sent inappropriate messages to a number of women including a 17-year-old girl.

According to reports carried by today's Irish Independent , he will walk away from politics with a termination payment he is entitled to worth almost €14,000 – equivalent to two months' salary.

He will also be entitled to a small pension.

Meanwhile, David Hall of the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation said he is considering running for Nulty's now-vacant seat.
