New survey shows 70% of people expect to change jobs this year

A recent survey found that 70% of people expect to change jobs in 2016.

The survey by Career Zoo also shows that pay, promotion and a positive work/life balance continue to determine people's career choices.

The survey was released to mark the 11th Career Zoo which is now underway in Dublin's Convention Centre with thousands of jobseekers expected to attend.

Director of the event, Jackie Slattery, has said the career landscape for many Irish people is changing; “It used to be the case that if people had a job they felt that they were lucky to have that job.

“Now, I suppose the focus has shifted, the power has shifted, to the right candidate.

“So people with the right skill sets can certainly hold the power now and the companies here today are competing with each other for the right talent.”
