New visiting restrictions are being put in place at Dublin's maternity hospitals in order to prevent the spread of swine flu.
The new measures will come into force at the Coombe Women's Hospital, the Rotunda and the National Maternity Hospital at Holles Street from this Friday.
From then on, only the partner or one nominated adult can visit new mothers or gynaecology inpatients.
Only the parents or guardians of new babies will be allowed into the paediatric units, while only one person can accompany patients at outpatient appointments.
