The new Cork-Midleton rail line is due to be officially opened today, with a full schedule of operations set to come into effect from next Tuesday.
On weekdays, commuter trains will run every 30 minutes during peak times and every hour during off-peak periods.
Iarnród Éireann says the journey time will be less than 25 minutes.
All trains will serve the new stations in Midleton and Carrigtwohill, as well as Glounthaune, Little Island and Kent Station.
Travel on the line is free today to mark the official opening, which is being conducted by Transport Minister Noel Dempsey.
