Murder-trial jury fails to agree verdict

A jury has failed to agree on a verdict in the trial of a man accused of fatally stabbing his partner in Dublin two years ago.

Vesel Jahiri, of Louth Village, Dundalk, but originally from Kosovo, has not attended the case at the Central Criminal Court since last Friday.

He denied murdering 25-year-old mother-of-two Anna Finnegan and causing serious harm to her brother Karl at her home in Allendale Glen, Clonsilla, on the evening of September 21, 2012.

The jury spent over 10 hours deliberating before concluding they would not be able to reach a decision.
