Motorists in Galway and Donegal face the longest wait for an NCT appointment according to recent figures by the Road Safety Authority.

Figures show an average wait of 18 days at Clifden in Galway and 17 days in Carndonagh, Donegal.

Nationally there is an average 12 day wait for NCT appointments so far this year.

Motorists in Dublin have to wait between 11 to 16 days for an NCT appointment while the shortest waiting time was noted in Arklow, County Carlow at 9 days.
